Dear Mr. President - A MLK Day Event Description:
Love Lives Here in the Flathead invites the community to join in its 10th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration on Monday, January 16 at the Performing Arts Center in Whitefish, and on Tuesday, January 17 at Flathead High School in Kalispell.
Both performances are free and will begin at 7:30.

Performances on both evenings will feature presentations by local musicians and will center on the main theme of "Dear Mr. President."
Young and old across the valley will share their visions and dreams for the future in Dear Mr. President letters along with a special messages from actors John Lithgow and David Ackroyd.

The heart of the evening will be a famous speech by Dr. King, "Remaining Awake Through A Great Revolution." Music will be performed by Mike Eldred, Erica Von Kleist, and The Crown of the Continent Choir. Whitefish and Glacier High School Choirs will perform along with a children's musical group.

"These two evenings will allow our community to come together to celebrate the powerful, peaceful teachings of Martin Luther King Jr.," says Allen Secher, co-producer of the event with Bruce Guthrie. "This valley is filled with love and light, and these events give us an opportunity to gather and shine that light brighter."
