Noble Dance 6th annual Winter Celebration Ballet Performance
2:00 PM
O'Shaughnessy Center
Description:
Noble Dance's leading ballet dancers present their annual company production featuring all new classical and contemporary ballet works. Under the direction of Natalie Molter, the beautiful sixth annual Winter Celebration will be presented January 21 & 22 at the O'Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish by the Noble Dance Performing Company.

The performance includes three large works of classical ballet, contemporary ballet, and modern dance. At the top of the program is Serenade in C Major, a classical ballet choreographed by Molter to highlight the technical precision of the Noble Dance Performing Company to one of Tchaikovsky's most famous compositions. Ballet in its purest form, the dancers sweep from solos, duets, and trios into fine formations of the corps de ballet, highlighting the reverence and beauty of the age-old art form set to Tchaikovsky's beloved score.

A strong, hardworking group of ballet dancers from all over the Flathead, the company trains in classical ballet technique daily, but relishes the opportunity to dance in the freer, more artistic form of contemporary ballet. Transitions, is a contemporary ballet with choreography by Molter and fellow Noble Dance teacher, Jennifer Wyatt. The ballet is designed to blur the line between classical ballet technique and modern movement, pushing the technical and artistic boundaries of the company dancers.

Pulse is a piece that mixes modern dance, ballet technique and pointe work into a fast paced ride. Set to drum music, the Performing Company's high energy pieces are woven together with playful sections highlighting several up and coming students from the Noble Dance school. Bright colors, tutus, and pointe shoes finish the show on an upbeat.

With vibrant lighting by Rachel Burke of Alpine Theatre Project, Molter has put together a inspiring and enjoyable Winter Celebration not to be missed! Showtimes are 2 and 8pm on Saturday, January 21 and 2pm on Sunday, January 22. Tickets are $20 adults, and $12 children 12 and under.
