Description:
Whitefish Theatre Co. hosts Montana Rep’s Biloxi Blues

Montana Repertory Theatre’s 2013 production of Neil Simon’s Biloxi Blues comes to Whitefish on Wednesday, January 23 at 7:30pm at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center.

Sponsored by the Whitefish Theatre Co., this Tony award-winning coming of age comedy is about young men going off to war. These men are universal soldiers facing the same fears, anxieties, and loneliness that grip all young recruits about to encounter the ultimate test of combat. Mr. Simon brings his great sense of humor and humanity to every word of this touching play.

Biloxi Blues is the middle play of the autobiographical Neil Simon trilogy. Beginning
with Brighton Beach Memoirs and ending with Broadway Bound, Mr. Simon explores the life and times of Eugene Morris Jerome as he struggles to find an outlet for his talents and his way in the world.

According to Montana Rep Artistic Director Greg Johnson, “These three plays mark a high point in the career of a master writer. We are very fortunate and proud to once again bring Neil Simon to our national audience with one of his masterpieces, Biloxi Blues.”

“Biloxi Blues is both heartwarming and funny. The laughter rarely stops in this unexpectedly rewarding comedy” New York Times.

This Flathead Valley performance is the Montana Repertory Theatre’s first performance before traveling to several other Montana cities and then launching into its national tour.

Established in 1968, the Rep is now one of the oldest and finest touring companies in the country. In recent years they have presented more than 450 performances in over 350 communities from California to New York. As the professional theatre-in-residence at The University of Montana at Missoula, they offer theatre students unique educational opportunities. UM is one of the very few universities in the nation to house a professional touring company and the only one that incorporates students and faculty into that company.

Tickets for the 7:30pm, January 23 performance are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors 65+ and $8 for students. All seats are reserved. Tickets can be purchased at the Whitefish Theatre Co.
