Snow Stompers Program Series
At Lone Pine State Park
-Saturdays January 17 through February 21 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM-

Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) is hosting the Snow Stompers program series at Lone Pine State Park, Saturdays 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM from January 17 through February 21.

The winter season provides the opportunity to explore winter ecology and wildlife behavior. Open your child's eyes to the wonderful world of winter by attending these fun and interactive programs. Geared for kids 4 to 7 years old, this hour-long program will teach your child about what makes nature tick during the winter months. Depending on the program, activities will include storybooks and crafts, as well as inside and outside activities, all of which will teach fun lessons about our world in the winter time.

All programs meet at the Lone Pine Visitor Center. Please bring weather-appropriate clothing, as some activities will be held outside (weather dependant). The program schedule is listed below.

January 17: "Where Did They All Go?" Animals have different ways of surviving the winter.
January 24: "Snow Adventurers" Locate and identify animal tracks in the snow.
January 31: "Disappearing Act" Animals camouflage in the snow.
February 7: "A Secret World Beneath the Snow" Learn which animals are awake during the winter and
what it's like in their unseen subnivean environment.
February 15: "A Warm Winter Tale" Learn about animals hibernating during the winter.
February 21: "Winter Resident" Snowy Owls only live in Montana during the winter.
