Gather with a group of enthusiastic outdoor adventurers for an enjoyable day of winter birding and tracking wildlife trails and sign. We will look to the sky for feathers and the surfaces for feet, and observe and identify mammals and birds. Come prepared with boots, snowshoes (we have a few extra pairs), lunch, camera, binoculars and spotting scopes.

This is a free, guided hike co-sponsored by Montana Wilderness Association, Montana Audubon and Flathead Audubon. The hike will be led by expert naturalist Brian Baxter of Libby. The group will meet at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4 at the Montessori School at 349 Willow Glen Rd. in Kalispell. The hike will be approximately 3 miles long with less than 600 feet of elevation gain.

Participants must sign up at wildmontana.org/walks under the "Winter Wilderness Walks" heading. Participants should select hike #17: "Wings of Winter, Tracks of Time". Participants will receive more specific information about the hike after registration. Children over 10 years of age with genuine interest are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
