Crits & Croissants - A Saturday Morning Artist's Critique
10:30 AM
Hockaday Museum of Art
Description:
The Hockaday Museum of Art's Crits & Croissants forum gives those who create art a chance to have their work reviewed by professionals. Artists 15 years of age and older may bring one or more pieces of their recently created artwork for critique while enjoying coffee and croissants. Participants are invited to join oil painter Robert Marceau on March 12 from 10:30am - 12pm.

Marceau's art is typically landscapes that include wildlife. Robert is essentially self-taught in the area of wildlife art after attended various workshops given by top wildlife artists. Marceau thoroughly enjoys painting outdoors (plein air) in Glacier National Park, and paints in oil or acrylic on masonite or canvas. Although his landscapes are created from painting outdoors, he refers to photographs for the wildlife he places in them. Placing critical importance on how the animal's anatomy is represented, Robert often sketches until he is comfortable with the rendering of wildlife in his paintings.

For the Crits & Croissants session, Robert will focus on typical art criteria, such as composition, use of values, edge control, color theory and choice of subject.

Crits & Croissants - A Saturday Morning Artist's Critique is held every 2nd Saturday of the month, September - May in the Hockaday's classroom, and is free for Hockaday members. A $5 donation is asked of non-members.
