FVCC Holds Seventh Annual Conference on Student Research

Flathead Valley Community College students will present their research projects during the seventh annual FVCC Student Research Conference on May 6. Free and open to the public, the event will begin at 12:15 p.m. in the large community room inside the Arts and Technology Building on campus.

The event will provide approximately 90 students the opportunity to present their research, portfolios and projects to college faculty, staff, students and members of the community. Project topics will range widely in such categories as biology, biotechnology, natural resources, remote sensing, chemistry, physics, history, psychology and nursing, among others.

FVCC's Director of The Honors Program Dr. Christina Relyea, Dean of the Honors College at the University of Montana Dr. Tess Brockman, FVCC psychology instructor Dr. Ivan Lorentzen and FVCC honors student Havilland O'Briant will deliver the event's opening address. The research poster exhibitions will be on display inside the large community room from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Individual student presentations will take place every half hour from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. inside the second-floor classrooms. The event will conclude with an award ceremony for the winners and 2016 Honors Program graduates at 3:45 p.m. in room 144.
