Yes! For Flathead Farms and Water: Petition Drive Description:
Sign Initiative 17-01, enjoy some local beers, while listening to the talented musician Colton Christensen.
Currently the proposed water bottle plant sits on unzoned land, a couple hundred yards away from the Flathead River. The 17 farmers of Creston wanted to add 530 acres to the existing zoned land, but our County Commissioners denied them this zoning request and by doing so, taking away their property rights and an opportunity to protect our valley's water.
So, Yes! For Flathead Farms and Water are taking this same zoning request to the people of Flathead County to create a citizens initiated zoning.
Let's make sure Flathead County has a voice on the future of our valley's water. Put INITIATIVE 17-01 on the fall ballot and help protect our valley's most valuable resource, our pristine water.

FACTS ABOUT THE WATER BOTTLE PLANT:
The bottling plant's water permit application states that 140,000 20-ounce bottles of water will be produced every hour, and the factory will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This calculates to 1.22 billion plastic bottles created on site, rinsed, filled, and transported every year. The toxic rinse water will be discharged into a creek and travel a couple hundred yards before entering the Flathead River. The bottling plant's continuous pumping of water from the aquifer will draw down water levels of over 2000 wells located within a 6.8 mile radius.
