COONSA CREEK FIELD TRIP:
BIRDS, BEARS & NATIVE PLANTS
Led by wildlife biologist Steve Gniadek and botanist Betty Kuropat
Saturday, May 23 ... 7:00 AM
at
Columbia Heights Park 'n' Ride
US Highway 2 & MT Highway 206
Columbia Falls, MT
Participants will bird the rich riparian habitat along Coonsa Creek near Firebrand Pass trailhead and look for wildflowers on the ridge. Willow wetlands and aspen groves, contrasting with open, rocky talus east of the trail, create a large diversity of flora and fauna.
Participants will carpool to the Firebrand Pass trailhead (the drive takes from 1 to 1.5 hours) and return about 2 p.m. To sign up and get more information, contact Steve Gniadek at 892-7406 or email grayjaybro@yahoo.com.
