Community Discussion Forum Description:
Setting an agenda for the future of services and supports for
Montana children and youth with special health care needs and their families
What and Why
The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services invites parents and caregivers of
children and youth with special health care needs to discuss the results of the Montana Children's Special
Health Services Survey. Attendees will discuss the meaning of survey results and will be asked for their input
on an agenda to improve the services, supports, and lives of Montana children and youth with special health
care needs.
Children or youth with special healthcare needs (CYSHCN) include a child or youth, under the age of 22, who:
a. Has or is at increased risk for chronic physical, developmental, behavioral, and/or emotional
conditions; and
b. Needs health and related services of a type or amount beyond that generally required by
children.

Support for Families
Families will receive a $25 honoraria as appreciation for taking part in the discussion forum. Food and
refreshments will be provided.
