Guitar Seminar featuring Carl Dixon Description:
Carl Dixon to give free talk about the power of music in his life

On Friday June 24th from 12pm to 3pm, the Crown Guitar Workshop and the Continuing Education Center of the Flathead Valley Community College are pleased to present a Guitar Seminar featuring Carl Dixon, published author, speaker, and Canadian Rock legend and lead singer of The Guess Who. The afternoon will also include performances and discussion with some of the Crown's past Guitar Scholarship recipients on the power of music in their lives. Carl will be performing and sharing his amazing and inspirational life journey. He remains one of Canada's stellar singers and musicians, known from such bands as, Coney Hatch, The Guess Who and April Wine.

In 2008, Carl was critically injured in a car accident, leaving him with a traumatic brain injury, collapsed lungs, crushed legs, and crushed right arm. He was not expected to survive. His eight-year journey back to join The Guess Who on stage in 2016 is a truly incredible story that demonstrates the power of determination, positivity and the power of mind over adversity. Guitarists and non-musicians alike will gain strength, insight, and inspiration from his presentation.

This event is provided free of charge and open to the public thanks to the generous sponsorship of the FVCC Continuing Education Center. Guitars are not needed for this workshop. Contact Workshop Manager, Amelia Thornton by email: athornton@crownguitar.org or phone: 855-855-5900 ext. 3 with any questions or visit www.crownguitarfest.org for more information.
