Glacier Park
Granite Park Chalet Getaway Description:
Cost: $450
If Glacier National Park is the "Crown of the Continent," then Granite Park Chalet is the "jewel" in that Crown! Join us for an extended weekend trip up to the high perch of the Continental Divide where we will lodge in historic stone structures built more than a century ago by the Great Northern Railroad. From this lofty vantage point we'll be poised to experience one of the finest alpine environments anywhere in North America. Situated between the Lewis and Livingston ranges near the head of the McDonald Valley, our setting will be ideal for learning about Glacier National Park's geology and natural history, as well as striking out for day hikes on which we'll discover more historic structures and view the Park's most iconic glacier. This pristine setting is also home to most of the animals for which Glacier is so famous, and we can expect to see some of them! Back in the historic atmosphere of the Chalet, we will explore the colorful and eventful past of this one-of-kind alpine camp that has welcomed tourists for so long. Nothing can quite match the experience of relaxing in this historic setting, facing west from its rustic balcony towards the Livingston Range, as the closing day bathes the peaks in alpenglow, then enjoying hearty meals with new friends in the same dining room where generations of travelers have mingled.
