10:00 AM
Flathead Lake Ranger Station, Flathead Lake State Park
Trees: Wayfarers Wild Plants Walk Description:
Come to Flathead Lake State Park's Wayfarers Unit to venture into the wild world of plants! This week's walk will focus on identifying trees and the important roles they play in ecosystems.

The walks are a moderate pace, up and down inclines, and are approximately a mile in length. Hikes are conducted on trails making strollers and wagons unusable. Bring comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. The cost for each walk is $4 per person.

Wayfarers Wild Plants Walks is a seven week series of Sunday morning native plant walks from May 29 to July 10, 10 am to 11:30 am. Attendees may attend the whole series or just one or two, according to their interests. Each week's walk will have a different theme and focus on a different aspect of the world of plants. The first walks will focus on flowers, but as the seasons change, we too will turn our attention from spring flowers to the fruits of summer. From where they get their names to their relationships with insects and other plants to what kinds of seeds they produce and why, there is more to plants than meets the eye. Whether you come every week to watch the progression from spring to summer, or just one week, all ages are welcome.
