The Greater Woods Bay Sewer District was formed in 2006 to represent residents that expressed interest in being included in a central wastewater collection and treatment system. In many cases, untreated or inadequately treated wastewater is being discharged, migrating down gradient and contaminating wells and Flathead Lake. Numerous community meetings have been held to determine the best course of action in incorporating the surrounding areas into the project.
