Solar Eclipse River Party!
8:00 AM
Middle Fork of the Flathead River
Solar Eclipse River Party! Description:
A solar eclipse happens when the moon casts a shadow on Earth, fully or partially blocking the sun's light in some areas.
Observers within the path of totality will be able to see the sun's corona (weather permitting). Observers outside this path will see a partial eclipse.

Here in Northwest Montana, we will experience a 90% blockage of the sun by the moon. It will begin at 10:16am, reach its apex at 11:31am, and end at 12:51pm. After the 2017 solar eclipse, the next total solar eclipse visible over the continental United States will be on April 8, 2024.

So, this sort of thing doesn't happen every day. Don't miss out - join us for a special Solar Eclipse River Party! This will entail a special scenic float -- suitable for ages 3 and up -- on the Wild & Scenic Flathead River. We will meet up at 8am at Glacier Guides and Montana Raft and be on the river by 9am. We will take off the river around 11am, lay out paco pads and blankets, put on special Eclipse Sunglasses - included! - kick back, and watch the show. A delicious, homemade, largely organic and locally sourced lunch will be served towards the end of the eclipse.

While we are watching the eclipse, our Sky Specialist will discuss all things moon, sun, and stars, as well as Glacier National Park's recent International Dark Sky Designation. Space is limited, so sign up today! Choose the 8am launch on August 21 if you want to book online, or just call the office at 406-387-5555.

$97/adult $74/child

p.s. You can save 10% if you fill a boat with 10-12 of your favorite people!
