Crème de la Cabaret Description:
Whitefish's favorite sketch(y) comedy troupe is back and creamier than ever. Join them every Sunday Night this summer at the Great Northern Bar and Grill in Downtown Whitefish for drinks, laughs, and an opportunity to send your life into an upheaval of existential questioning that is best served when you're on the blackout train. They'll be delivering a mixture of old favorites you might not have seen with new material that reflects our country's current state of insanity.

Viscosity Theatre's Comedy Cabaret series began in October of 2014 at Crush Lounge, which closed it's doors in February of 2014 with a Celebratory Funeral by the Cabaret Comedy Troupe. Now, the show will run every Sunday this Summer at 9 pm, beginning July 17 and ending August 28. On July 31, the show will be at 7 pm with a Family Friendly first act. The second act is for adults only, and there will be no 9 pm show.

Part of the appeal of the Viscosity Cabaret is the troupe's mixture of raunch, intellect, and irreverent sass. The performers have written six original cabarets, including over twelve hours of comedic material, plus a children's show conceptualized by Schaffer and developed with Cabaret member Mikey Winn. Now, they are taking the best material they've written and presenting it all summer, along with some new sketches that reflect current events. Because there is so much material to draw from, shows will vary slightly from week to week. They are also now available to perform at private parties and corporate events, with tailored material to fit the occasion. This summer's Cabaret members include Rebecca Schaffer, Mikey Winn, David Blair, Collette Taylor, Becky Rygg, Adam Pitman, Don Caverly, Morgan Hart Delaney, and a special appearance by Cher-E.

“We are particularly excited about highlighting our Family Friendly material during the first act on July 31,” says Producer and Artistic Director of Viscosity Theatre, Rebecca Schaffer. “We have a lot of engaging content for kids--even though it is family friendly, it is still strange, dark, and slightly Brother's Grimm, which is why kids (and adults) will love it. This isn't your average family show.”

“We're super stoked to be able to continue the Cabaret, thanks to the Great Northern Bar and Grill,” says writer and performer David Blair. “When Crush closed, we were homeless. Crush was one of a kind, and gave so many artists opportunities to present their work. We're glad that the Northern is continuing to provide that outlet.”

Viscosity is a theatrical collective of writers, performers, and visual artists, dedicated to creating original, dynamic experiences for a new generation of theatre goers. The Company was conceptualized in Missoula, MT in 2009 with Salep and Silk, the first original collaboration between Director Rebecca Schaffer and Writer Josh Wagner. Viscosity was officially defined in November of 2012 by Schaffer, Wagner, Diego Burgos, and Daniel Scott Morris.
