(Kalispell, MT) - Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) is partnering with the Flathead Audubon Society to present the eight annual Raptor Day at Lone Pine State Park on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Explore the world of raptors and see live birds of prey up close at this family friendly event. A community bird walk will kick off the event at 9:30 AM. At 11:00 AM, after a short address from Flathead Audubon and the family of Rod Ash, Doug McCarter and colleagues from Montana Wildwings Recovery Center will give a dynamic presentation with live birds.

Bring a sack lunch or purchase lunch from Bennie's Dog House then stay to hear researchers from Denver Holt's Owl Institute of Montana talk about their current research on Montana's fascinating owls at 1:30 PM.

Lone Pine will provide activities for kids during breaks and as an alternative during the presentations. There will also be many fun and interactive booths from local conservation agencies and organizations.
