Auditions for "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare"
7:00 PM
O'Shaughnessy Center
Description:
The Whitefish Theatre Co. is holding auditions in September for two season opening theatre productions.

On September 6th and 7th at 7:00 p.m., auditions will be held for a mainstage show of "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)[Revised]". On September 12th at 7:00 p.m., auditions will be held for a Black Curtain production of "Marjorie Prime". All auditions take place at the O'Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish. Please enter on the north side of the building near the Green Room and arrive early to fill out an audition application and review the script.

What better way to celebrate the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death than by enjoying the Bard's entire canon of comedies, histories and tragedies in an irreverent, fast-paced, over-the- top romp. With a trunkful of props, wigs, and outrageous costumes, the whole family will enjoy "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)[Revised]", a lightening-speed Shakespeare jambalaya that will leave you helpless with laughter.

The New York Times hails "Marjorie Prime" as "a tender, searching comedy...a thought-provoking piece about memory, its corruption, and our insistence that technology can help us outwit death." It's the age of artificial intelligence, and 85-year- old Marjorie Prime, a jumble of disparate, fading memories, has a handsome new companion who's programmed to feed the story of her life back to her. What would we remember, and what would we forget, if given the chance? In this compassionate and provocative Pulitzer Prize-nominated story, Jordan Harrison (Netflix's "Orange Is the New Black") explores the mysteries of human identity and the limits, if any, of what technology can replace.

Kim Krueger is the director of "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare". The cast will be composed of 3 people, men or women, ages 20 and over. Total time commitment for this production is six weeks with rehearsals starting immediately. There are seven performances over two weekends on October 20-23 and 27-29.

Gail Cleveland is the director of "Marjorie Prime". The cast will be composed of 2 men, ages 30s to 60s, 1 woman, age 30s to early 60s, and 1 woman, age 70s to 80s. As a Black Curtain show, actors will remain on book during performances and there will be minimal costumes and set. Total time commitment for this production is two weeks with rehearsals starting the week of September 12 th. There will be two
performances over one weekend on September 24th and 25th.
No experience or preparation is necessary to audition for any show. Pages from the script will be provided.
