A free docent-led tour begins at 10:30am and speaks to all current exhibitions. Complimentary coffee, tea and cookies are served 10am-4pm.

KALISPELL, MONT. - On Thursday, September 11, the Hockaday Museum of Art invites visitors age 60 to enjoy free admission to the Museum for Senior Tour & Tea Day. Guests may enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, and cookies from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and one of the Museum's trained volunteer docents will greet guests at the front desk area for an educational tour that begins at 10:30 am.

The Hockaday's front three galleries feature Glacier National Park backcountry vistas painted by Nicholas Oberling for Hidden Treasures. Nicholas spent over two years painting in Glacier's hard-to-reach areas by horsebacking in with Carol Bibler and Jim Watson. Areas covered are Belly River, Kintla Lake, Granite Park Chalet to Swiftcurrent, Gunsight Lake and Two Medicine to St. Mary.

Also on display is Visions of the Wild, an exhibition by 31 past participants of the Artist-Wilderness-Connection program. This year's exhibtion celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act and is indicative of the diversity and talent of Montana's adventurous artists. The AWC program is a collaborative project between the Hockaday, Flathead National Forest, Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation and Swan Ecosystem Center and connects artists with natural settings in the Great Bear and Bob Marshall Wilderness Areas.

Four fully restored Glacier National Park murals are on display in the Museum with the largest being 4' by 11'. All four works were restored by Joe Abbrescia, Jr. and depict iconic landscapes of Glacier National Park. The Crown of the Continent Glacier National Park Gallery is an ongoing display of works from the Museum's permanent collection.

Senior Tour & Tea Day is sponsored by The Daily Inter Lake, Medical Arts Pharmacy and Sykes Pharmacy in Kalispell.
