WHITEFISH THEATRE COMPANY ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR
WINTER PRODUCTION OF “THE KING AND I”

The Whitefish Theatre Co. is holding auditions for the winter production of The King and I on Monday, September 29th and Tuesday, September 30th at the O'Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish. Auditions will be held at 7:00 p.m . on both nights for all ages. Please arrive early to the Green Room to fill out an audition application and review the script.
Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic musical The King and I has captured the hearts of millions with its charming story of Anna, the British governess brought into the court of Siam to tutor the King's many children. Once within the splendor of the Royal Palace, Anna and the King grow to understand and, eventually, respect one another, in a truly unique love story. With one of the most glorious scores ever written, much-loved melodies form the show include: “Getting to Know You”, “I Whistle A Happy Tune”, “Hello Young Lovers”, and the unforgettable “Shall We Dance.” This spectacular production promises to be the musical event of the holiday season.
The cast will be composed of 25 to 35 adults and approximately 12 children ages 7 and up. No experience is necessary to audition. Pages from the script will be provided. All participants will be taught 16 bars of a song from the show.
Rebecca Schaffer is the director for this production with Karla West acting as music director. Total time commitment for this production is approximately nine weeks of rehearsal. Rehearsals will be held Monday through Friday from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Pick-up rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays between show weekends. There are ten performances over three weekends on December 4th-7th, 12th – 14th, and 19th-21st.
