Friends Book Group
The Friends book group meets the second Tuesday of the month, September through June. All are invited to join the discussion. This month's selection: Jhumpa Lahiri, "The Lowland." A heartbreaking story about two brothers, Udayan and Subhash. When Udayan ends up a victim of his self-made political violence in India, Subhash steps in and marries his dead brother's pregnant wife. But Subhash soon becomes a victim of his own goodness.
