Hockaday Museum of Art
Description:
The Hockaday Museum of Art thanks the community for it support by offering free admission to enjoy current exhibitions, discover the gift shop, and learn about the Museum's programs and activities.

Friday, November 27, and Saturday, November 28, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day.

Visitors are welcome to view the current exhibitions, including Wild and Free: Photographs of North American Wildlife, an exhibit by world-renowned photographer Donald M. Jones. The exhibit features hand-selected photographs of a wide array of animals and birds indigenous to North America. Each image shown in Wild and Free represents a moment in time where Don was able to witness and capture a subject doing what he or she does in her routine of surviving another day. All of the images are printed on canvas and displayed with a gallery wrap. Works are available for fixed price sale in a range of sizes from 16" x 24" to 36" x 54" and prices from $195 to $895.

Also on display, the 2015 Winter Members' Salon features over 100 participating artist members showing one piece of their recent work. Many media types and styles are represented in this popular annual exhibit with the majority of pieces offered for sale. Visitors are encouraged to cast a vote for their favorite work in the annual People's Choice Awards. Always on display at the Hockaday are The Crown of the Continent Exhibition featuring art and artifacts from the Museum's permanent collection and the four fully restored murals recovered from lodges in Glacier National Park in the 1950s.

A membership information table will also be set up so that visitors may learn about all of the benefits of supporting the Hockaday. A new video featuring the Museum's education and outreach programs will be playing in the elevator gallery.

Holiday shoppers will appreciate the unique gift ideas presented by 20 juried Montana artists in the Museum's gift shop, as well as commemorative items from the Museum's past exhibitions. Newly added books in the gift shop include Through Glacier Park by Hungry Horse News Editor Chris Peterson as well as five photography books by Donald M. Jones. November 28 is "Small Business Saturday" and the Hockaday joins other merchants in thanking everyone for their support of locally owned and operated businesses.
