The 44th annual Kalispell Sunriser Lions Family Ice Fishing Derby on Smith Lake is December 27th from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The popular event co-sponsored by the Sportsman, Flathead Wildlife and Walleyes Unlimited will have prizes in several fish
categories including $100 gift certificates for the largest perch and pike. There will be hourly drawings and the Lions trailer will be there with hot drinks, chili and hot dogs and hamburgers. The first 75 kids that catch a fish will receive a fishing rod
donated by Walleyes and there will be a warming fire and S'mores donated by the Chuck Williams family. Prices are: adults-$5, kids-$2 and families-$10. Proceeds will benefit the Sunriser's kids fish pond projects.
