Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) is leading Snowshoe Discovery Hikes at Lone Pine State Park every Saturday December 27 through February 21 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Looking for a way to get outdoors during the winter months? Then join a ranger for a fun and engaging Snowshoe Discovery Hike. On these guide hikes, you'll experience and learn about the wonders of winter, all while exploring different areas of the park. There will be a demonstration on the basics of snowshoeing at the beginning of each hike. Snowshoes can be rented from the Lone Pine Visitor Center for $5.00; otherwise you are welcome to bring your own.
Winter weather does vary, so if snow conditions are not appropriate for snowshoes, there will be a guided hike instead. Ice cleats are always recommended in the winter months. Be sure to dress in layers, wear sturdy boots and bring water.
