The Hockaday Museum of Art will stage a major exhibition in honor of Glacier National Park’s breathtaking Going-to-the Sun Road, on the 75th Anniversary of its opening.
Rails, Trails and a Road will feature historic photographs and video footage of the building of the Sun Road along with an impressive selection of paintings by renowned Glacier Park artists John Fery (1859-1934), Adolph Heinz (1887-1958), T. and Joseph Abbrescia (1936-2005). The Great Northern Railroad commissioned Fery to paint Glacier’s “Alps of America” in the 1920’s.
