2008 Inaugural Butterfly Walk for Children with Cockayne Syndrome
10:00 AM Woodland Park kalispell
Description:
Walk-A-Thon for children suffering from Cockayne Syndrome. My daughter Natasha Belston has a life threatening disease called Cockayne Syndrome. Cockayne Syndrome is classified as a type of dwarfism with many developmental delays. She may never sit up on her own, walk, talk, or even be able to crawl. She wears contacts and has had several eye surgeries to repair cataracts, and she recently had a G-tube placed to feed her. The average life span for children with her type of Cockayne Syndrome is 4-7 years, with that being said this syndrome is so rare that only 2-3 hundred children suffer from Cockayne Syndrome in the WORLD. We are having our first ever walk a thon to help children with Cockayne Syndrome and their families through research, education, and support!!! We would love to have you come and walk with us to help spread the word!!!
