Friendship Force Social Evening

Friendship Force of Flathead Valley invites Anyone interested in travel and meeting people from other countries to Friendship Force Social Evening Wednesday, April 16 from 5 to 7 pm
Friendship Force, an international organization founded in 1977, promotes peace through friendship with exchanges that feature homestay visits with people in nations throughout the world. The local Friendship Force club will host a group of ambassadors from North Moreton, Australia, in June and is planning an outgoing exchange to Bratislava, Slovakia and a tour of several other European countries in early September. An outgoing exchange to Nelson and Taupo, New Zealand, is tentatively planned for the spring of 2009.
The social evening at Village Greens will feature displays from previous trips and members talking about their experiences with Friendship Force. Refreshments and a light supper will be served.
The Friendship Force has chartered clubs in some 360 cities in nearly 60 countries on six continents. The Friendship Force clubs are run by elected leaders and volunteer committees. The underlying idea is that after sharing a weeklong experience of friendship and activities, differences of language, race, politics or religion become less important.
Friendship Force of Flathead Valley has participated in numerous incoming and outgoing exchanges over the years. Members have traveled to China, Germany, Japan, England, Australia and many other nations with Friendship Force.
The local club has business meetings every other month, with a social breakfast the first Wednesday of each month and a Let's Eat Out dinner at various restaurants on alternate months. Annual dues are $15 per individual and $25 per couple.
