Enjoy an exceptional afternoon with the Hockaday Museum in a tour of the private working studio of artist David Secrest. Born in Rochester, New York, Secrest sold his first work as a high school student. He has maintained a permanent and full-time metal sculpture studio in Somers since 1978.
Secrest speaks of his work “as a path that has led from intrigue to a maturing intimacy with the material and tools that I use. I have developed an understanding of how form relates to structure, and how texture influences the perception of form. My deepening mastery of metalworking has built a foundation from which I have been able to develop and explore new techniques and processes, and to integrate them into the field of creative arts.”
To the observer, Secrest’s mastery is art of profound depth; wholly natural, pure, exquisite, and stirring. Don’t miss this chance. Call the Hockaday Museum of Art today to reserve your place on the June 11 Secrest Studio Tour. 755-5268
