Plains Indian Art Camp ages 11 & up (family participation encouraged)

Guest Instructors: Richard Horn - enrolled member, Blackfeet Tribe; traditional artist & consultant; Traditional Native Games Society instructor / Dwight Billedeaux - enrolled member, Blackfeet Tribe; art Salish Kootenai College art instructor for 25 years; founder of Coup Marks artist co-operative on the Flathead Reservation. (Guest instructors will be assisted by Hockaday Museum staff.)
An appealing blend of fun and learning awaits participants in the Hockaday Museum’s Plains Indian Art Camp. Explore the remarkable culture of the Blackfeet Nation and other Plains Indians. Develop art projects inspired by examples from the Museum’s Traveling Medicine Show collection. Learn how to make and play Indian children’s traditional games under the guidance of Blackfoot artist Richard Horn. Enjoy Native American decoration and design; make stuffed buffalo and horse dolls, miniature drums and other art / crafts.
