Flathead Democrats to Hold County Convention
All Interested Democrats Encouraged to Attend
The 2008 Presidential Election has generated an incredible amount of interest and record voter turnout across the country. Interest in Montana is especially high with visits from both Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hilary Clinton. Now, it’s time to turn that interest into actual delegates. “This is an opportunity for all Democrats from Flathead County to attend the Montana Presidential Nominating Convention and the Democratic National Convention,” said Joan Vetter Ehrenberg, chair of the Flathead Democratic Party, in her announcement of the Flathead County Convention on Thursday, June 5th, at 7 pm in the gymnasium at Russell School, 227 W. Nevada St. in Kalispell.
“Democrats are united around getting higher paying jobs, investing in good schools for our kids, and easing the tax burden on homeowners. We’re excited about getting together with other Flathead Democrats, electing our delegates, supporting the great state of Montana, supporting Democrats running in 2008 and our candidates for President,” said Vetter Ehrenberg.
At their convention, Flathead Democrats will elect 13 delegates to the state convention on Sunday, June 8th, in Helena. In Helena, delegates from across Montana will elect 17 delegates and 4 alternates to the Democratic National Convention on August 25-28, in Denver.
“We invite every Democrat to attend and vote, whether they want to represent Flathead County at the state convention, go to the national convention, or would just like to meet with local Democrats,” said Joan Vetter Ehrenberg.
