Purple Frog Gardens Farm Tour
Ticket prices for the tour, meal and beverages are: $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Tickets are limited to 100. Please pre-register at Purple Frog Gardens, 406-862-0621 Groups will visit different quadrants of the Garden and share a cornucopia of information including successful soil-building crop rotations, effective pruning techniques, and methods for extending Montana s short growing season with "hoop houses", row covers and extensive use of micro-climates. They will tour the farm's 350 laying-hen operation, compost, mulch, worm bins, pest control, and much more.
Purple Frog Gardens grows traditional fruits like currants, gooseberries, apple and pears and has begun introducing "new" fruits like quinces, paw paws, aronia berry, persimmons and Arctic Beauty kiwis. In regards to these new plantings, one the discussions of the Tour should be "hope".
