BIRDING IN GLACIER NATIONAL PARK WITH FLATHEAD AUDUBON
Flathead Audubon will sponsor a birding trip in Glacier National Park on Saturday, May 31. The trip will focus on identifying neo-tropical migrants by sight and by ear.
Participants will walk along McDonald creek listening and looking for birds and stop at the Fish Creek campground to search for Harlequin Ducks and scan the cottonwoods for vireos and warblers.
Birders may also search for Black-backed Woodpeckers, Olive-sided Flycatchers and Northern Hawk Owls on the inside North Fork Road or along the Camas Road.
Call Steve Gniadek at 888-7833 to sign up for the trip. Space is limited. Meet at the Alberta Visitor Center in West Glacier at 6 a.m. and return by 12 p.m. Bring binoculars and/or scope, water and snacks. Note that a Glacier National Park entrance fee or Park pass is required.
