Worlds of Silence: A Cultural Expression of the Deaf Culture

Description:
Flathead Valley Community College’s Multicultural Affairs program will host a presentation titled, “Words of Silence, a Cultural Expression of the Deaf Culture by Deaf Individuals,”.
The presentation will be delivered by students and professionals who speak the language to increase awareness and understanding of the silent word. Featured presenters include FVCC American Sign Language Instructor/Interpreter Toni Cancilla who has 27 years of teaching and interpreting experience; FVCC student and member of the Kalispell deaf community Amber Lang; Marty Wheeler, the first deaf graduate from The University of Montana; and FVCC Advanced American Sign Language students Jessaemyn Jaeger, Cristie Gunderson, Carly Kacic and Cori Williams.
The presentation will take place on November 25th, from 5:30 PM - 7 PM in the Arts and Technology Building, room 144, on the college’s Kalispell campus.
Free and open to the public.
