Description:
Synopsis Writing Workshop - Jim Satterfield, Speaker
This presentation will include the nuts and bolts of writing an effective synopsis. Distilling a 300 page manuscript into one page is not easy, but a necessity if you wish to submit a novel for consideration by an agent or publisher. Also, many contests require a short synopsis. In less than 250 words, you must convey the theme, setting and plot of your novel in an elegant fashion that leaves the reader wanting more. A tough assignment requiring as much attention as you invest in your manuscript. Bring a dozen copies of your draft synopsis for consideration by the group. We're certain to provide you with useful feedback that will lead you toward an improved product.
