Tinking 101: Dropped Stitches
5:30 PM Knit'n Needle
Description:
The phone rings and the timer on the oven buzzes, you put down your knitting and tend to both. When you get back, you see that some stitches have fallen off your needle and are quickly unraveling down your work. Take this 1 hour “Tinking” (knitting spelled backwards) class and learn how to quickly and easily recover these dropped stitches without having to rip back multiple rows. PLEASE NOTE: You must arrive to class with a knitted swatch. See "homework" below.
PRE-CLASS HOMEWORK: Make swatch as follows: Using worsted weight yarn (light color) and needles to gauge, cast on 20 sts. Row 1: knit Row 2: p10, k10 Repeat rows 1 & 2 for 4 inches. Leave stitches on needle or place on stitch holder.
SESSIONS: 1 Session Part 1 - Thu - April 10, 2008 - 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM LEVEL: Beginner SKILLS COVERED: Picking up stitches that have dropped many rows in garter and stockinette stitch.
