Description:
Flathead Valley Community College Theatre will bring London’s longest running comedy, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged),” to the Flathead Valley with performances opening Thursday.

An anthology of all of Shakespeare’s 37 plays performed in 97 minutes, the show has been praised by the Los Angeles Times as "wildly funny" and by The Montreal Gazette as "the funniest show you are likely to see in your entire lifetime."  NBC’s Today Show has been quoted saying, “If you like Shakespeare, you'll like this show.  If you hate Shakespeare, you'll love this show!”

This whirlwind, side-splitting, audience-favorite promises to win over scholars and skeptics alike.  Written and originally performed by the world-famous Reduced Shakespeare Company, this brilliantly funny tribute takes aim at the most hallowed of English playwrights with the fervor of Lenny Bruce, the wit and humor of Groucho Marx and the pace of a lovesick hummingbird.

With a staff that includes some of the witty minds who delivered the FVCC Complete Works production during the company’s 2004-2005 season, this show is packed with uproarious talent, energy and enthusiasm.  This season’s gifted cast includes the lovely and scholarly Ms. Laramy Applekamp, the dangerously-charming Mr. Zachary Mahon, and the hilarious and often confused Mr. Jonathon Phipps.

Performances will take place in the FVCC Black Box Theatre inside the Arts and Technology Building on the college’s Kalispell campus July 9-11 and 16-18 at 7 p.m. and July 11, 12, 18 and 19 at 2 p.m.  Tickets are $5 each and will be available at the door.  Advance tickets also are available for purchase at the FVCC Bookstore Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. or by calling 756-3814.

“The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged),” is appropriate for all audiences.  For more information, contact Joe Legate at 756-3906, or email: jlegate@fvcc.edu.
