Wild Places
7:00 PM O'Shaughnessy Center
Description:
Headwaters Montana has put together a stunning one-night-only photo exhibit of the best work of some of Montana’s top photographers. The show, titled “Wild Places” will take place at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish, Thursday, April 10, and will celebrate Montana’s stunning wilderness heritage. Each artist will donate one image to the evening’s live auction. All proceeds go to Headwaters Montana a local conservation group working to protect water, wildlife and wild lands. The evening’s entertainment begins at 6:00 with an artist’s reception. Beer and wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served. The photo exhibit and live auction begins at 7:00pm. Admission is only $5. Artist contributing to the night’s event include, Dee Blank, Dave Clough, Doug Dye, Nick Fucci, Ed Gilliland, Chuck Haney, Sumio Harada, Todd Harwell, Diane Miller, Karen Nichols, Greg Thigpen, and Jeff Van Tine. Wild Places will project up to 20 photographs of each artist onto the theatre’s big screen. Professional auctioneers will then auction off a selected image by each artist. Winning bidders will take home a large formatted and matted photograph. The auction will prove to be very high value for the audience. In addition to professional work, Wild Places will include work donated by amateur photographers. These works will be a minimum of 8x10 inches and will be offered by silent auction. Headwaters Montana provides conservation solutions addressing the challenges of our changing environment in the Crown of the Continent region. The organization’s current work includes opposing BP’s coal bed methane project and the Cline coalmine north of the border, as well as local wilderness initiatives.
