Movie Night at the Museum - Ordinary People, FREE! Description:
The Northwest Montana History Museum is happy to announce the next Movie Night at the Museum on Tuesday, January 25, with the 1980 psychological drama Ordinary People!

After the accidental death of oldest (and favorite) son Buck, all three surviving members of the Jarrett family begin to manifest their grief in different ways - younger son Calvin (Timothy Hutton) battles deep depression and survivor’s guilt, mother Beth (Mary Tyler Moore) embraces a narcissistic denial of her new reality, and father Calvin (Donald Sutherland) tries his best to keep his heartbroken family from falling apart.

Ordinary People was the debut effort for many involved in the production, and you can't ask for a more successful debut picture than this. Robert Redford had not directed a film prior to Ordinary People, but that did not stop him from winning the Academy Award for Best Director. Timothy Hutton's story is similar, taking home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in his film debut.

Ordinary People is rated R for strong language and adult themes.

Of course, everyone is always welcome at the Northwest Montana History Museum. However, if you have a cough, a fever, or are just feeling under the weather, we kindly ask that you visit us some other time; not only for your own health, but for the well-being of our staff and other supporters.

There is no charge for the film, and donations will be accepted to help defray the cost of showing the films. The movie and popcorn are free; wine, beer, pop and water will be for sale. Seating is provided, but film fans can bring their own floor pillows, portable chairs, or whatever is comfortable for viewing the film.

The Northwest Montana History Museum is located at 124 2nd Ave E., Kalispell. Call 406- 756-8381 for more information.
