This workshop will give an overview of the rise of street art, especially over the last twenty years. We will go over how street art can be used in a powerful and meaningful way to make community improvements in and around the Flathead Valley that will leave a positive impact.

We will also discuss some of the negative aspects that have given street art a bad reputation, specifically around the illegal ways it has been used. Participants in this workshop will practice stylized writing and will get to experiment with some of the mediums used in making street art. Those who have taken this workshop will have more opportunities to find out how they can get involved in future large scale street pieces in collaboration with working artists in the Flathead Valley
