Film Club screens thriller The Eiger Sanction, Free! Description:
Jonathan Hemlock (Clint Eastwood) is an art professor and recreational mountaineer - he’s certainly not an assassin, he got out of that game years ago. But when his independence is threatened, Hemlock finds himself recruited into one last mission - a mission that will take him to all corners of the globe, up the north face of the challenging Eiger Mountain in the Alps, and into a den of lies and deceit that will push him to the breaking point.

The Eiger Sanction was filmed on location over seven weeks in 1974. Rather than using a stuntman to film the climbing scenes or recreating the film on a studio back-lot, Eastwood insisted on doing much of the difficult and dangerous mountain assent himself.

There is no charge for the film, and donations will be accepted to help defray the cost of showing the films. The movie and popcorn are free; wine, beer, pop and water will be for sale. Seating is provided, but film fans can bring their own floor pillows, portable chairs, or whatever is comfortable for viewing the film.
