Description:
WTC Importance of Being Earnest Auditions

Whitefish Theatre Co. will hold auditions for the spring play The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde on Monday and Tuesday, February 4 and 5 at 7pm at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish.

Written in the 1890’s, the comedy’s high farce and witty dialogue have helped make The Importance of Being Earnest Wilde's most enduringly popular play. Since its premiere in 1895, it has seen countless revivals along with three cinema versions, the latest in 2002. In 2011 it saw a successful Broadway revival.

The play involves mistaken identity carried to lovely, ludicrous extremes. In London high society, two friends use the same pseudonym ("Ernest") for their on-the-sly activities in order to escape burdensome social obligations. Hilarity ensues.

The cast will be composed of 4 women and 5 men, ages ranging from 20’s to 60’s. Nancy Nei directs. Performance dates are April 11-14 and 19-21.

For more information, call 862-5371 or visit www.whitefishtheatreco.org. Perusal copies of the play are available at the Whitefish, Kalispell and Columbia Falls libraries.
