About Wai Mizutani
Born in Beijing, China, and later moving to Hong Kong with his parents, Wai is a renowned violinist and Julliard graduate. As a child prodigy, Wai memorized 50 major violin concertos and 500 concert show pieces in 6 months when he was 10. He also, at the age of 14, became the youngest first violinist in the Hong Kong Philharmonic’s history. He has performed worldwide with orchestras; among them are the Julliard Symphony Orchestra, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, and symphony orchestras throughout Europe and Asia. He has also performed at famed venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Avery Fisher Hall and the Kennedy Center. Wai has won many awards, including the Young Concert Artist Award in New York; the Music Teacher National Association Top Prize; the Hong Kong International Violin Competition Top Honor; and the Beijing International Violin Competition Top Prize.

Wai has shared the stage with numerous famous artists. Some of the American and European performers he’s played with are Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Sarah Brightman, Luciano Pavarotti, Michael Buble, Andrea Bocelli, Barbra Streisand, Josh Groban, Placido Domingo, Yo-Yo Ma, Celine Dion, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Harry Connick Jr., Idina Menzel, Justin Beiber, Journey, and Steve Perry. He has also performed for Queen Elizabeth and the Royal family as well as several sitting United States Presidents.

Wai has lent his talents to many film score productions and has written melodies for a few famous Asian film OSTs. A list of some of the Asian artists he has worked with over the years, both pop and classical, are Cho-liang Lin, Lang Lang, Yuja Wang, Tan Dun, Leslie Cheung Kowk-Wing, Anita Mui Yim Fong, Jackie Chan, Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, Kim Jong Hyun, Yutaro Moira, Aaron Kowk Fu Shing, and Super-M (a subunit of the famous kpop group Super Junior).

About Wei-Yi Sun
Wei-Yi Sun, a solo pianist, piano teacher and a collaborative pianist from Taiwan, earned her Master of Music degree from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance from The Ohio State University School of Music. She has performed and won many awards locally and internationally including many recitals in the States, Taiwan, France and Italy. Wei-Yi won the gold medal in the Forte International Music Competition and was one of the semi-finalists in the NTD International Piano Competition in New York. Several honors she has received include the first prize of MTNA Competition (Ohio State Division); First Prize of Ohio MTA Graves Piano Competition; and the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs Award. Recently, Wei-Yi has received several prizes such as the 2nd prize in the Women of Music Competition in Columbus and winner of the OSU School of Music DMA Concerto Competition.


Ticket prices range from $18 to $25, not including ticket service fees.
This show is presented by WCC. No outside food or beverages allowed in Wachholz College Center.
