A poetry slam is a competition designed to get people engaged with poetry. The slam has 3 rounds where competing poets perform an original poem of 3 minutes or less each round. After each poem, judges (invited from the audience) score the poem, then totals are tabulated and a winner is determined.

Prior to the slam portion of the evening, there is an Open Mic when audience members can bring poetry that they or someone else wrote. This is a good platform for building confidence as a public speaker.

This is a FREE, all-ages event and light refreshments are provided. Come and participate as a competitor, a reader, or simply as an audience member.
