Get A Move On! A Theatrical Movement Workshop on the stage at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...and the same is true for actors on the stage. This workshop is designed to help you harness your ability to communicate using simple movements, gestures and staging techniques that will enhance your presence on the stage, and explore how to act with your entire body--not just your head. Bring a play to life using a combination of dance based exercises* and gesture work to explore how the artist tells stories on stage without needing to speak a single word. This class is also excellent for teachers, directors and designers. Please come dressed prepared to move!

*No prior dance experience is required. If you are concerned about any physical limitations you may have, please contact us. This is a workshop where all are welcome.


Monique Kleinhans has been performing since her first appearance in her parent's arms. With more than 18 years in professional theater, she has directed, performed and taught around the globe and is a core member of the Seattle based touring company: theater simple. Monique is skilled in developing new works and leading ensemble building writing and performance workshops. She also specializes in collaborative work and creating site-specific performance pieces for all ages.
