Artist Deadline: Artist Wilderness Connection Description:
Each year, artists are invited to apply for the Artist Wilderness Connection.

This innovative residency program places professional working artists in remote forest cabins for one to two week stays in Montana. In return, the artists give a public presentation related to their experience the following year.

Artists selected for the AWC reside in cabins in the Bob Marshall and Great Bear Wilderness Areas, and create work inspired by wilderness themes such as nature, wildlife, wilderness values, history and resource management.

All media of art work is encouraged. Two artists are chosen each year and hosted in July, August, or September.

Application Deadline February 24

For questions: please contact Teresa Wenum with the Flathead National Forest at 406-758-5218

AWC is a partnership between the Hockaday Museum of Art, The Forest Service - Flathead National Forest, the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation, and Swan Valley Connections.

Please share to tell your artist friends!

Note: artists do not need to live in Montana to apply; they simply need to be able to provide their transportation here if chosen.
