Film Club screens Disney classic Alice in Wonderland Description:
Lewis Carroll's beloved fantasy tale is brought to life in this Disney animated classic. When Alice (Kathryn Beaumont), a restless young British girl, falls down a rabbit hole, she enters a magical world. When Alice ends up in the court of the tyrannical Queen of Hearts (Verna Felton), she must stay on the ruler's good side -- or risk losing her head

The making of Alice in Wonderland is nearly as madcap as the film itself. Because of first competing films and then World War II, Alice in Wonderland’s production was delayed for decades until June 1947. British author Aldous Huxley wrote the initial script, but Walt Disney found it too literal. It was then re-written to focus on comedy, music, and the whimsical side of Lewis Carroll’s book. Originally a box office flop, the film found a second life in the 1970s due to its psychedelic imagery.

Don’t be late for this very important date!

There is no charge for the film, and donations will be accepted to help defray the cost of showing the films. The movie and popcorn are free; wine, beer, pop and water will be for sale. Seating is provided, but film fans can bring their own floor pillows, portable chairs, or whatever is comfortable for viewing the film
