BIRD IDENTIFICATION—BY SONG, SIGHT AND SILHOUETTE
With spring migration underway, you’ll want to attend Flathead Audubon’s annual spring birding course “Beauty of Birds”.  Classes will be taught Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. on April 4, 11, 18 and 25.    
“Bird Identification—by Song, Sight and Silhouette” is the theme of this year’s course.  Students will learn from some of the Flathead Valley’s foremost experts on bird biology, behavior, song and identification.  Conservation Educator Ashley Mason will facilitate the course.  The course is designed for both beginning birders and seasoned experts.  This year’s speakers and their topics are:
 
April 4   – The Basics of Bird Classification, Anatomy, Physiology and Flight by Bob Lee
April 11 – Birds of the Flathead Valley by Neal Brown
April 18 – A Closer Look at Bird Songs and Calls by Bruce Tannehill
April 25 – Field Trip to Local Birding Hotspots by Dan Casey
