Description:
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Blue Ribbons and blue pinwheels stand as symbols of a stand to end child abuse. On April 24th, The Nurturing Center will hold its Annual Blue Ribbon at the Pavilion in Lawrence Park.
On Wednesday, April 24th from 4pm – 6pm The Nurturing Center will be bringing Child Abuse Prevention month to a close with a celebration in Lawrence Park in Kalispell which will include a human blue ribbon. Wear blue to the celebration and help us create our biggest blue ribbon yet to stand against child abuse. Then join us for music, food, and fun!
EVERYONE is invited.

The Blue Ribbon Campaign to Prevent Child Abuse began in 1989 as a grandmother's efforts to acknowledge her grandson who died as a result of abuse. She tied a blue ribbon to the antenna of her car as a way to remember him and to alert her community to the tragedy
of child abuse. Today there are blue ribbons all across the country.
The Nurturing Center provides supportive, respectful services that strengthen families, increasing the number of children raised in healthy, nurturing environments. By increasing protective factors which lend support and assistance to families through caregiver education, support groups, youth mentoring, supervised parenting, nutrition and childcare assistance, The Nurturing Center aims for a brighter future for all children.
