WHAT'S THIS MOVIE ABOUT?

The story of four Sudanese Christians as they make a difficult and dangerous journey to a refugee camp in Kenya, and their resettlement in America thirteen years later. Adjusting to life in America is full of challenges, however, they find their champion in Carrie Davis (Reese Witherspoon) as she helps them find jobs, a new family, and a future. This is an incredible story of faith and hope in the face of great struggle, and you are sure to be inspired.

Anyone who wants to know more, or who has questions about whether Christians should indeed be involved in the current global refugee crisis.


IS THIS MOVIE OKAY FOR CHILDREN?

This movie is rated PG-13 for some violence, brief strong language and drug use, and a brief bedroom scene (no nudity is shown). Small children should only attend with their parent's approval, and a parent or guardian should also be in attendance (or a simple handwritten permission slip should be sent with the child).

There are many great morals for children in this film, and this is a wonderful event for families who want to make the world a more awesome place, and who desire to create change as a family.

Fun activities before and during the movie include:

- REFUGEE SIMULATION: Experience 10 minutes in the life of a refugee family, including the difficult decisions that have to be made and the emotions that refugees feel as they're forced to flee their homes. How will you and your family fare as you become refugees? This simulation is very inspiring and a great experience for all ages.

- 360 VIRTUAL REALITY STATION: Stand in the shoes of Sidra, a 12-year old girl who has spent the last 18 months seeking refuge outside her home country of Syria. Experience her life in Zaatari, a refugee camp in Jordan that is home to 130,000 Syrians fleeing violence and war. Children make up half the camp's population.
