Dirty Work at the Crossroads Art :: Theatre
Dirty Work at the Crossroads
7:30 PM
Port Polson Players
Description:
Port Polson Players, in association with Mission Valley Friends of the Arts, is set to re-open Polson’s beautiful log theatre on the lake on June 11. The melodramatic comedy with music, Dirty Work At The Crossroads, will usher in the Players 46th season and welcome audiences back after a year and a half of closure.
According to Neal and Karen Lewing, Players producers, “This show is the perfect production to pick up our spirits, presented as melodramas were in the late 1800’s, with a host of classic stock characters like the Hero, Heroine, Villainess and Villain. COVID 19 was everyone’s villain and will eventually get its “come-uppance,” just as the scoundrel in Dirty Work gets his.”
Says Karen Lewing, the production’s director, “Carmine Mowbray’s magnificent scenery frames ten fabulous Mission Valley cast members, with four accomplished musicians who team up to bring the show to life. Our patrons will leave the theatre with a satisfied smile on their face!”
Musical Director Neal Lewing adds, “We’re playing three weekends to accommodate anticipated audiences. Letters, emails, phone calls, people stopping us on the street - support has been tremendous throughout the lockdown.”
Social distancing and sanitary protocol will be employed, including wrapped concessions outside on the immaculate Old Nine of the Polson Golf Course.
Dirty Work At The Crossroads plays June 11 thru June 27. Curtain times are 7:30 Fridays and Saturdays, with Sunday matinees at 2:00. Tickets are $16 for Adults, $15 for Sr. Citizens, Students, and Kids.
Reservations are strongly suggested; walk-ins will be seated as per CDC capacity suggestions. To reserve early, go to PortPolsonPlayers.com or call (406) 883-9212.
